Letter to Haqqani
Letter to Haqqani
Ambassador Haqqani
The Pakistan Embassy,
Washington D.C
USA.
Dear Ambassador,
Thank you for your usual, annual letter requesting us for donations for the relief of calamity struck Pakistanis or, for some other worthy cause in Pakistan!!
We, the people of Pakistani origin now living abroad, have indeed always pulled together in times of national hardship, to give a helping hand to their brethren and their beloved home country.
Now too, as always, they shall be willing to do the same. But the time has finally arrived when our leaders, at long last, should lead the way.
But, knowing that, asking them to part with even a small part of their ill-gotten wealth will be a burden which may well crush them, so we will not ask them to do that.
We merely request them to give back to the people of Pakistan only a small part of what they have stolen from them.
We want this foray into charity to be led by our inimitable President. Let him lead this effort by donating to the cause of flood relief in Sind, his chateau in France, as well as the proceeds of the sale of the Rockwood estate in the U.K.
And let our stooge Prime Minister follow him by just the return of the jewellery that his wife bought during her last celebrated trip to London, during which she paid such an obscene sum to the UK economy as VAT! And, for a start let his son and his son's friends return what they swindled in the Haj scam.
Let them do this, and then let their ministers, nephews, nieces, and assorted front men and women do the same. They should be followed in this "kar-e-khair" (كار خير) by the political leaders from all political parties of Pakistan, and their brothers, sisters, wives, etc., who all have also been dipping their fingers in Pakistan's economic pie.
For once, let them all lead, and see how we, the people, will follow.
If they do just that little bit then it will be sufficient to take care of all the needy people of Pakistan for many years, and you will not have to come to us with your yearly begging bowl!!!
And till our leaders and politicians do this, let them hold their peace, shut their begging mouths, while we hold on to our purses.
We will help our people any other way we can, but we will not give any donations to these thieves in government because we know, that as usual, they will skim most of it into their dirty ForEx accounts abroad; while our people will continue to suffer and die in wilful neglect!!
